The bag I own is the first iteration, maybe 10 years old.
It's been everywhere. Asia, South America, Europe, overnights,
Business trips, the beach, sporting events, shopping.
It's a computer bag, a book bag,a workout bag, camera bag, shopping bag, beach bag, overnight bag and even a pillow. It's versatility is a huge plus when traveling. In one day it acts as a gear bag, then a beach bag, then a shopping bag. It's been dragged, thrown, carried on, checked through, lost, and found.
What's most amazing is if you saw my bag, you would think I bought it last month. Crazy. It just does not wear. I've given several to family and girlfriends. Everyone loves it.
I own a variety of suitcases, backpacks and bags. This is the one bag that goes everywhere except when hiking. It's usually found in my car filled with the stuff of the moment.
Size. The bag was modeled after the old classic canvas beach bags. The ones with the leather handles. Like those bags the zippered closure adds another two to three inches. Because the bag is unstructured and empty except for a small interior pouch, it holds an immense amount of stuff.
Portability. The straps are wide enough to comfortably rest on your shoulders.
Durability. As mentioned, this bag is iron tough. My girlfriend's bag is blue and though only year old, still looks new. It's extremely rugged.
Organization. The current model has an outer pocket (with an inner pocket) that can hold a computer. It has a pocket inside the bag maybe 9 inches square and two mesh pockes, about 6 inches square each. It also has a bottle sleeve on one end. It is not padded.
Value. It will be one of the more expensive bags for it's type. It also seems expensive when comparing it to back packs and carry ons, but if I lost mine I would replace it as soon as I could find it for under $100. It is just that good. Look for the 3.0 model and save $20 or $30.
