I originally wanted the Lowepro Messenger Factor M Computer Bag--Fits Most 14-Inch Laptops (Black) but had the prior experience of always tripping over such a "fat" or thick case. Turns out when this arrived, it has attached info showing this bag is also designed to slip directly into that bag if desired. I was surprised at the great quality of this bag and how attractive it was compared to the single photo description which just did NOT do it justice. I was also surprised to find 2 nice large pockets to store my power brick plus my mouse I carry. On top of that, it had a full size extra pouch/sleeve so I actually have the ability to carry far more than I ever expected. GOOF foam protection all the way around, all sides. Best & cheapest deal I ever encountered and the bag is barely bigger than my laptop itself so I have a nice compact means of transport with adequate protection. I also really appreciate it has NO zippers or anything to scratch or scuff my new computer. No better deal anywhere for the money. Amazing value!Great price, quality was so-so. By A. Mouser
Fits my 14" widescreen laptop snuggly. I can tell however why the price was so cheap due to thin materials used. The carrying handle could pull away from the fabric if used very long. I bought this sleeve because it was so cheap ($7), it was a LowePro, and I thought that I could use it for my netbook. Well, it was much too large for my netbook. as I lark I attempted to insert my 15" MBP. It fit perfectly. No, there is no room to spare, but that is what I look for in a sleeve. The other reviewers are correct that the materials used are not what you normally expect from LowePro. However, in defense of LP, a sleeve protects against minor bumps and scratches. If you plan to drop the item, you need a full-blown case to provide protection. Materials are quite handsome, and the stitching is professional. I can't evaluate the handle stitching-whether the reinforcement is adequate. However, I'm carrying a 5 pound laptop plus a 1/ pound adapter (it fits in the two pockets in the front), so I'm not sure how strong the handle needs to be. Regardless, the shoulder strap is of good quality. The snap hooks are plastic, and not a particularly high quality plastic. However, the loops are metal woven into high-grade canvas. The loops will not fail. The plastic connectors can break, but only if you're carrying 20+ pounds in the bag. There is a nice padded shoulder pad that makes carrying the sleeve on your shoulder comfortable.
Again, it's a handsome, stylish case. It doesn't look cheap (I'll let you know what it looks like after I've used it for a while). Padding is more than adequate for a sleeve, but not up to the level of a case.
I'd give it for 4 stars if it were priced at >$20. For less than $10 for a sleeve with a quality shoulder strap it is 5+ stars. Buy two or three!
