It's a square base messenger bag By Parka
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R29OZPFUOZGNYG The vintage messenger bag from Manhattan Portage is a very simple bag. This bag is short on pockets. There's only one small zipped pocket, and it's inside the main compartment.
As with most Manhattan Portage bags, it uses the thick Cordura nylon fabric which is very durable. The shoulder strap is surprisingly wide, and it comes with a huge shiny buckle.
The bag uses Velcro to close the front flap. There's a big piece of Velcro going across horizontally on the front of the main compartment. On the flap are two smaller pieces that goes vertically. The usage of the Velcro is optional if you don't like the sound it makes. The bag comes with two removable one-sided Velcro straps that you can paste onto the flap - that way it won't stick to the front compartment.
The bag has a square base. It's good for smaller books, water bottle, etc. Since there's a lack of pockets, items you put in the main compartment will tend to jumble up.
While it's big enough to hold lots of items, it's not suitable for holding items that are lengthy, e.g. A4-sized sketchbook, 15-inch laptop. You can put in lengthy items vertically, but the flap will be impossible to close.
There's tendency for small items to fall out when the bag is lying down. It is highly recommended to use the Velcro to prevent that. Even so, the closed flap still presents a small gap by the side.
This bag is definitely not for everyone. But if you have the need for one, this highly recommended for its durability.

My first impressions of this lightweight bag were it's attractive and well made: the camo fabric, strap webbing and sewing are top notch. It's spartan by design, basically a fat pouch without dividers, lining or padding. It has a single flap pocket inside but is only big enough for a pack of smokes. The single wall fabric construction of the main compartment is best suited for freeform stuffing of light to medium loads. If you carry an iPad, you'll definitely want to also use a neoprene sleeve for protection. The outer flap/cover is secured with really strong velcro and is not likely to accidentally open.
Beyond the cute camo exterior, simplicity is the main charm of this bag: no dividers or padding means you can tweak and stuff this bag as you please. This is not the best bag for organizing small nicknacks. Choose this bag for the large and unencumbered interior. My main purpose was to carry camera gear and extra pockets and dividers get in the way. I stuffed it with a camera insert, a Crumpler The Haven Olive Dot/Green -Large, transforming this urban messenger into a kickin' incognito DSLR bag. The Haven rides like it was designed to fit, providing excellent padding and structure for my EOS 7D/15-85 USM and a spare lens and/or flash. Nobody thinks it's a camera bag and are surprised when I pull out my 7D. Of course, this bag is heavy when loaded with gear and cries out for a shoulder pad, so I added the Manhattan Portage Large Shoulder Pad. If you're mainly carrying light loads you won't need a shoulder pad.
Who is this bag for? Anyone desiring a simple, lightweight and street stylish bag. Don't buy this bag if you're a pocket wolf craving the structure of pockets and dividers. Finally, it took me many weeks to get my Manhattan Portage Small Vintage Messenger Bag (Camo) from Amazon. Apparently the Camo version is a hot item and goes out of stock quickly, especially during the back to school shopping season. I was surprised it finally shipped.Great purchase By Wilson Chan Chin Weng
Tough and durable. Manhattan Portage stuff has never failed to realize expectations. The only concern I have is the lack of shape when I have very little stuff in it, especially when I throw in my laptop. Digging stuff out of it will become a major hassle. Overall still a good bag and I don't regret buying it.
