Exceptional case By Kiwi
I bought this Targus case after returning the Case Logic VNC-17.
The Targus case is very well made. It has lots of padding and rubber bumpers, the handle and strap attachment are webbing reinforced and very strong, it had good additional storage and a loop on the back to go over wheeling suitcase handles. This case is well worth the extra $ compared to the Case Logic VNC-17.
This is the same case as the 'Targus Blacktop Deluxe 17 Laptop Case w/ Dome Protection CPT401DUS' - however, without the dome and without a zippered document compartment in the base.
It is a good fit for my HP G71 laptop (and I can even get the power adapter in the main compartment (in the nifty accessory pouch) along the top, not the side of the laptop.

I purchased the targus platinum blacktop standard 17 laptop case on the description given at amazon.com. It turned out to be better than I expected. It had more compartments for storage than I thought possible. I have taken it on an airplane and am really pleased with the size, efficieancy and ease of use. I would recommend this case to anyone looking for a great case at a reasonable price. I checked at Office Max and the same case was twice what I paid for it on amazon.com16 of 16 I LOVE IT! By K. Lots of pockets, pouches, storage space and easily fits the 17.3" screen. Can't think of anything I'd change!
And I found the exact same model at Micro Center for double the price.
