Surprisingly Spacious By F. D. Gillett
The Microsoft 17" MT Checkpoint-Friendly Portfolio (39107} strikes a nice balance between form and function. While it doesn't look large enough to swallow my ASUS N73JN 17" widescreen, it does so with ease and with room for much more. In my "fill it up" test, in additon to my laptop I used two large interior pockets for my Logitech Trackman Wheel Optical (Silver) and for the ASUS battery charger and cords. Still lots of room. Next went in an assortment of pens, a writing tablet, and some business cards. Into the removable and expandable file folder went 3 manilla folders with an assortment of documents. Sound like it's filling up? Wrong. Next went in my Logitech Comfort Lapdesk. Now the interior of the bag is getting full, although not yet filled to capacity so I added some keys, a wallet, and gave up. I couldn't think of anything else I would normally take on a trip. Next, on the outside, in goes the mp3 player another big set of keys and a bottle of water. That left empty a pocket for airline tickets. Oops, here's another pocket secured with a magnetic flap. Room for the cell phone, more pens, an ipod, more business cards. Well, you get the picture and yet there is still more room. A suitcase it isn't, but it just has an incredible amount of organized space with pockets that aren't too small for the necessities.
It addition to being well laid-laid out, the fit and finish is very nice. There is a padded shoulder strap included but I prefer to use the hand grip. Everything lines up with no loose ends or strings. Zippers work without hanging up or sticking. Everything works as it should in a good quality bag. The only place I could knock off half a star would be in the padding around the notebook compartment. The padding is there, I just thought it could have been a little more robust. Although the images of the bag made me assume it was a light to medicum grey, in reality it that it is a charcoal grey, almost black, with blue and grey interior trim.
All in all, this bag is a great choice and I'll be using it for many years to come.Excellent laptop case By Miri
I am very happy with this laptop case. It has a lot of pockets which allows me to store all of the laptop accessories as well as my personal items, so that I do not have to carry a purse. I like the checkpoint friendly feature which allows you to open the case flat and not have to pull out the laptop at TSA security checks. The luggage slider allows you to slip the briefcase onto your rolling carry-on, which is very convenient, but it also comes with a sturdy shoulder strap. There is a narrow zippered pocket that runs along the top of the case which is really great for storing your license and other small items to which you need quick access, but need secured from loss. The only drawback of this case is that the large front pocket closes magnetically. If you overfill the pocket, the magnets will not align to properly close. However, there are a lot of smaller pockets and slots within the larger pocket to secure things. I would just be careful not to put anything valuable loose within the larger magnetic pocket. I cannot yet comment on the long-term durability of this case, although it appears to be well-constructed, and made of durable materials.Great bag! By robin thingvold
I needed a carrier for my 17.3" HP laptop, and surprisedly, there are a limited selection to choose from. However, due to many positive reviews (and few negative ones), I purchased it. And I LOVE IT!
It easily accommodates my laptop, power adapter, and mouse with plenty of room to spare. I'll be hard pressed to fill the various compartments! Plus, it's very comfortable to carry either by shoulder strap or handle. An excellent value for the money!
