It really needs to be mentioned in the product description that this backpack is made of mesh fabric. You can kind of tell if you look at the enlarged views, but I just thought it was a pattern on the fabric. I already had one of these packs but my boys were always using it so I decided to get one for them. You can really load this thing down and it is comfortable to wear on your back. Used it for our trip to New York city and it worked well. Also has a raincover that you can use if it is raining.
