Great looking, well made, but... By ExJxS
Had I had a chance to put my hands on this before buying, I might have gone another way.
First, let me tell you what I was looking for. After years of thinking it would be great if it were more socially acceptable for men to carry around a bag for all the stuff we're expected to have with us, I had just gotten a Nexus tablet and decided I now had the excuse I needed to carry a man-purse. So I started looking and narrowed my choices down to about four, including this one. In the end, I think I picked this one because of its clean, no-frills look. And it doesn't disappoint. It looks great. People have gushed.
It's got all the pockets neatly arranged for my phone, tablet, keys and wallet. And still, I'm not sure I'm happy with it.
It's very thin. Everything that goes into it needs to be flat and arranged in a way that doesn't cause stacking or it bulges. Which may not seem like a problem (it hasn't been for me, as I said, my stuff is flat) until you realize that it has a snap clasp on the flap. Once the bag shape changes, the clasp doesn't line up. I've taken to not snapping the clasp anyway, though, because even flat, it's hard to line up. I would have much preferred a magnetic clasp. That said, it's a minor design issue that wouldn't have been a deal-breaker.
What I don't like, and what probably would have turned me away from this bag is the flap itself. The bag is close to a foot long and the flap, which is stiff leather, closes at the bottom. That means when you're wearing it, and have to open it, you've got to pull about 13 inches of leather up and hold it against your body to get to its contents. That's considerable and it didn't occur to me that it would be a problem until the first time my phone rang and it was kinda awkward to pull out.
So, take that into consideration if this is one of the bags you're thinking of buying.Sexy, lots of Compartments, Good Value, quality leather By Christina Davis
I have not found a bag of this quality for less than a hundred bucks anywhere else. I love the way there are enough compartments to keep it from getting bottom heavy. My one complaint is that the strap pad threads came loose shortly after I got it, but after I burned them down with a lighter, it stopped threading out. Overall, I am very happy and receive a ton of compliments on this bag.
