Customer Reviews:
fantastic for overseas trips By Victoria Jessica Stead
Took this baby on a 12 day European trip where we didn't have hotels so we had to carry our stuff everywhere. The straps are good and sturdy and while my back ached from me packing it so heavily (my fault) it was super easy to run through the airport, hop on and off trains and generally get around Europe with minimal fuss. My friend had a roller bag which I was envious of when we were walking slowly places but any time we had to hustle or hop on and off a train quickly, my bag was far superior. And I fit a LOT in it!!! I think I saw a review somewhere that someone complained that the back of the bag had a giant logo on it... yes, it does have the Eagle Creek name on the back of the bag (which actually faces outwards when you're wearing it -- protecting the zippered parts so someone can't pick pocket your bag while you're wearing it). The name/logo didn't bother me though.great backpack By Oak Time
This bag was perfect for a long trip where we needed soft-sided luggage. It seems to have been very well thought-out with separate zipped compartments in the right places. I also really appreciated that it is the same size as a carry-on suitcase, so it fits perfectly into the overhead bins of airplanes, as well as toting our gear around in various campsites. Very happy with it.not a great bag By JT
While I do not think this is a good bag, I believe there are a few redeeming qualities which I will mention first. The bag is about the size of the dimensions highly restrictive airlines give for carry-on baggage. The straps helped condense the bag to fit it into any bin. The bag on its own is attractive and has lots of useful compartments. However, If you are a man with average size feet, you will find it difficult to get your shoes in the shoe compartment. Before we left for a two week trip, the zipper got stuck. The zipper completely broke in the parking lot when we were on our way home from the airport. In theory, having the green, more stylish part of the bag facing your back is reasonable as you cannot be "pick pocketed" when the zippered compartments are hidden. However, this feature makes the bag incredibly uncomfortable to wear on your back. Anything in the pockets will poke you in the back and the straps are incredibly awkward. The bag also sits too high on your neck. The bag does not have a waist strap which it needs when the bag is fully packed. Finally, the shoulder straps are useless when the bag is completely packed as it makes it nearly impossible to carry. We bought another bag at the time for the same trip. The other bag, the Osprey "Porter 46", is far superior to this and cost a little less. I cannot recommend this bag.
