Customer Reviews:
Small bag for ultraportable By Aspinwall
I am a mobile road warrior. This bag sees 20,000 miles of the open sky per month. The Victorinox Specialist, fully loaded is under 10lb. It will only fit a 11-13" ultrabook laptop. There are three compartments, the main, the front zipper and a flap.
Description:
The main compartment fits my X-Series Thinkpad, iPad, 45w laptop charger, ethernet cable, security cable, 4-port Monster wall adapter, a kindle and a medium writing notebook in the main compartment.
In the front pocket, I have my keys, wireless mouse, earphones, bluetooth headset, iPhone and iPad charger, a portable USB hard drive, plus another small writing notebook, pens and a pill box for medication.
The zippered pocket on the front is useless, and often bulges when the front pocket is overloaded. It is really only useful for papers, such as a boarding pass. Do people still use these?
Review: Main compartment is good for laptop, ipad and charger. Even the charger is an awkward fit. I found dents on my thinkpad in the corners, indicating this isn't the best padded bag. Unfortunately, the bag is too snug for a laptop sleeve. Front pocket is good for the minimalist, but really is a tight fit. The pocket on the front is useless. The bag has a flap on the back for those rolling suitcases. I just use the handles most of the time.
Overall: Great for a minimalist. The Specialist is a new design. I hope they re-design to make it slightly roomier, if only to accomodate the laptop charger better.
