Plenty of room to carry my laptop, tablet, cell phone and some light office supplies (pens, tablet, backup hard drive etc.). Nice inner compartments to hold all these items with an outer compartment that is lined to put a bottle of water or soda in, but large enough for bulky items as it will expand about 1". Material is durable and the handle and strap appear they will hold up under stress. The magnets that hold the flap style cover in place seem to be working, however they are not powerful and the cover can be opened easily. I could see how the cover may "flap in the breeze" however I have not experienced this. Overall very happy with my purchase.

Pretty good By keysgirl
Bag feels well made and is accurately described here with the possible exception of the color which is a bit darker/more saturated than pictured but that may depend on your monitor. No bag is right for everyone so here are my observations:
Upsides:
1. the key holder is awesome and perfect for those with a car that does not require the key to be put in the ignition (you can leave it in your purse and start the car) AND if you also have keyless entry on your house doors you rarely need to take the keys out, yet if you need to grab them quickly they are easy to find! Honestly if I needed my keys for my house and car I don't think I would bother to attach them each time though and they would likely be hard to find in the depth of this bag (see below).
2. Wallet attachment is great and makes up for lacking credit card pockets. I can easily find it and now put my cards back in the wallet after using them and that is a major help!
3. Lays flat if you like to wear it cross-body style and it is easy to push out of the way (esp. since the strap is very smooth/slippery).
4. Front pocket with the turn snap is big enough (by far) to accommodate the biggest bulkiest iphone case, even the silicone ones that are impossible to slide in and out of phone pockets drop easily in here and I can ALWAYS find my phone and easily grab it and replace it securely with one hand. This is a major thing for me so I am happy with that. It would also easily fit enve med-lg point and shoot cameras b/c it is pretty deep.
5. Back side has a pocket on the outside that has a magnetic closure- perfect to quickly slip receipts

Downsides:
1. Credit cards do not stay in the little slots leaving a big mess at the bottom of a kinda deep bag
2. Bag is deep! Since it is narrow/flat (which is what I wanted) it makes retrieving things from the bottom kinda awkward.
3. Pen loops are useless- they are mounted sideways which I never find convenient but worse their placement on the inside of the 'front of the bag actually makes it had to open the bag when you are wearing it. Picture the back laying against your body and you go to pull the front panel away from you so you can get to stuff (esp all the stuff that is at the bottom!) and there is a rigid bar there that makes it impossible to make the opening any wider! Hard to explain but really you can't use these. Ther is no reason they can't be on the back panel or mounted vertically so I don't get it!
4. This is minor but the end of the zipper sticks out to the side (as you can see in photo but the ring that attaches the strap on that side will make it flip up and thus hard to zip and messy looking- that is slightly overstated maybe but if the rings were a little smaller this would not happen.
5. If you wear this on your shoulder rather than across your body then the slippery-ness of the strap makes it feel like it is going to slide off.
6. Square zippered pocket on the front is difficult to access because of the zipper (which is sharp too BTW). Too bad there is not a magnetic flap or something because this should be a great place to put things you don't want to dig for. The little zipper on the front of that pocket is totally uselss You might be able to slide a postage stamp in there but that is it!

A place for everything By Bay Girl
I bought this bag to take on a trip, but it is so well-thought-out, I now use it for everyday. There is a roomy easily accessible pocket for the cell phone. There is another similar pocket that can be used for a camera when on a trip, or for credit cards for everyday use. Also there is a perfect pocket for a Kindle if you have one. Everywhere you look, there is another pocket. Baggallini has really good designers working on their purses. I have many Baggallini Baggs, and I love all of them.

This bag is really GREAT. I carry a lot of stuff -- cell phone, iPod, camera, wallet, credit cards, check book, make-up purse, epi-pen, and my KINDLE (in it's case, and more, more, more. It stays slim, tidy and neat-looking. Everything is fingertip ready. I check it over each night, and every morning it's grab and go ready. I've tried lots of different bags, and this is the best.

Great Notebook Bag! By Servo
I've been using the my Contour Pro since mid June of 2004. I've mainly used it on my college campus, and I must say it's been great. I can easily fit my laptop, and books. In fact the pocket at the end of the bag (which is curved) is perfect for books! My only complaint would be for a longer strap so you could wield the bag across your chest (for 6' guys it feels awkward).

Great deal at ~60USD.

I have had this case for over 2 years, with light use (mostly when I travel). My 17" HP Pavilion zd7133 is a desktop replacement, thus, a heavy laptop.

Pros:

1) Lots of pockets and sleeves for cables, gadgets, and paperwork.
2) Nice shoulder strap
3) Case-within-a-case is nice. You can use the smaller case to go to a wifi cafe for web surfing. It has a handle and zipper.
4) Good as a carry-on bag on plane trips.

Cons:

1) The rubber zipper pulls break after light use. Now it is very hard to use the zippers that don't have pulls on them.
2) No good place to put the power brick. The brick makes the case very thick.
3) No wheels
4) The small padded sleeve won't work with a 17" laptop. Toss it or give it away.

I'm not sure there is a better 17" laptop bag. Some hotshot designer needs to invent one that can handle the power brick while mainting a somewhat slim profile.

For non-business users, a padded computer backpack might be a better choice.

When I first received my carrying case, I was impressed. It seemed quite durable (tough fabric and hard contour padded back) then proved otherwise...

I _DO NOT_ recommend using this case if you have a large and heavy notebook (as are all 17" notebooks).

After a few months the padded shoulder strap which I thought was comfortable ended up ripping at the ends (where the pressure is when worn on the shoulder). Then I contacted customer service to get the strap replaced. While I'm waiting for a new strap I started to carry it everyday to work by the handles...then, yup...it broke!

Customer service needs serious improvement. I've opened so many support tickets with them but because of the language barrier (India of course), it was not a pleasant experience. I eventually got them to give me a refund.

I would give this a 5 out of 5 if they only improved the design: make the bag REALLY able to support the weight of a 17" laptop, huge power brick and books...otherwise, look elsewhere.

Especially one that has a sturdy shoulder strap and handles!

The travel wallet is fine and works; however, it was not what I had expected and what I believed I would be receiving. The item in the picture has a tan, suede look, but the item I received was black and made with some cheap nylon-like material. Ultimately the wallet works just fine, but I would have ordered the nicer wallet with the tan inside from Macy's had I known that this one would not be the same.

I work on offshore oil rigs and needed a bag that was rough, tough, and as waterproof as possible for my travels. I spent a year looking for the perfect bag and I'd have to say I think I've found it. I was a little worried about the Velcro flap but after using it I think it'll work just fine. The backpack straps do slip a little easier than I would like but so far not a problem at all. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I haven't really tested out it's waterproof abilities. So far I couldn't happier with this bag and think I'll have it for years.

I just purchased this bag from Amazon last week, and I love it! It arrived within two days, even though I selected the free shipping.
The quality is great,nice stitching, nice grain of leather, and it is VERY sturdy, but not too heavy. I saw this bag in Best Buys two weeks ago for $99.99, and it was $77. on Amazon!
I have a Toshiba 15.6 screen laptop and was worried about the size of the laptop compartment, but my laptop fit fine, and the laptop compartment closes like an envelope, with velcro all the way across the flap to secure my computer. I've never done an Amazon review, but this bag was so nice, I had to comment. Definitely feminine enough, and a welcome change from the briefcase/messenger bag.
The straps are cushioned and comfortable. There are pockets and compartments for accessories, makeup, cell phone, wallet, etc. This bag is attractive enough to double as a purse. I was even able to put my lunch and a bottle of water in the large compartment, and it was nice to only have to carry ONE BAG to work! I am already receiving compliments on the bag from my colleagues! I live in a cold climate, and the bag fit comfortably over my parka. The straps are a great length. If you have to sit the bag on the floor, it stands up straight and has feet on the bottom.
Nice job Solo Products. The ONLY drawback is that I was unable to find this bag in black. If a black one comes out, I will purchase it in a heartbeat!

I just bought this Solo Bucket Bag after being bored stiff by the usual styles available and absolutely loved it at first inspection and still do. I find the oversized, padded handles extremely comfortable - don't even feel it on my shoulder. The interior padded compartment for the computer is protective with a nice velcro flap and no zippers to scratch the case. Plenty of room and pockets for all the extras, and the bucket bottom with feet is very stable. It definitely is genuine leather, soft and supple. The style is feminine instead of boxy and all-business, yet makes a professional impression. Could double as a beautiful handbag on its own, in my view. I wouldn't change a thing.

I had a bag like this before but my mom loved it so much she took it! I was glad I was able to find it on Amazon again! Love that you can access your computer from both the side and top zippers! I also like that it has a small pocket on top where I put my phone and my car keys when I go to school for easy access! It's very roomy without being bulky! Also the padded shoulder pads make it comfortable to carry no matter how heavy it is! I love all the compartments it has because you can use it to keep different things organized in it! This bag is new. So I don't have any review for how it holds up but the reason I bought it was because I purchased a used one in good condition and loved it! I looked for about two weeks straight at other options so I could be sure to make a good choice. It came early even with my super saver shipping. It says 5-8 days and it came in about 3 days. And the packaging was perfect I was afraid it would be shoved into one of those bags and smushed but it was in a box that was the same size and had paper covering the clips and plastic.So happy!

This is my second Kalencom diaper bag. With my first child I used the Kalencom Laminated Buckle Bag. This time I was planning to get another buckle bag in a different pattern, and found the Ozz bag instead. I have to say, I am very impressed. The Ozz diaper bag is "coated" rather than laminated, meaning the fabric and the wipeable covering are one and the same (not two layers). With the laminated bag, the plastic got small holes in the corners (on the bottom of the side pockets) after months of use. They were barely noticeable, and would not keep me from purchasing another one. However, I don't think this bag will have that issue. The adjustable strap and stroller straps are great. There is plenty of room in this bag. I have already packed it with what we might be carrying around on a typical day (baby is not here yet!) and had room to spare. This is what I was able to pack: 2 receiving blankets, 2 all-in-one cloth diapers (pretty bulky so about the equivalent of 4-5 disposables), wipes container, 2 prefold cloth diapers (as burp cloths) 3 onesies, 2 pair of pants, bottle holder, changing pad, and the extra pouch inside (I left it empty but there is plenty of room for lotion, medicine, etc.) and there was plenty of room left for my wallet and keys. I am very happy with this purchase! Buying it on Amazon was a good decision because I was able to get a much better deal than from any other website or local boutique that carries Kalencom. The Clover pattern was the icing on the cake! The colors are actually a little brighter in person than they appear online, which I am very happy with. I would definitely recomment the Ozz diaper bag!

This piece of luggage is a workhorse that's light on frills. Let me tell you what it does well and where it's lacking.

Pros:

1 - Huge - This luggage brushes right up against the linear-inch max for checked luggage, allowing you to cram as much stuff as possible inside of it for those long trips.

2 - Cavernous interior - Unlike other luggage, pretty much all of the space inside this luggage is usable. The polycarbonate shell is quite thin, and the structural underpinnings of the luggage are only minimally intrusive, allowing you to make highly effective use of the available space. Each side of the luggage can be separately zipped, and items can be further compartmentalized by unzipping the outer lining of the suitcase and storing items underneath it, right up against the bare polycarbonate.

3 - Convenience features - This luggage is a "spinner", meaning it has wheels at all corners to allow for easy, upright navigation through crowded airports. It accomplishes this very well, rolling, turning, and cornering almost effortlessly. This is likely because Samsonite wisely doubled-up on the wheels, putting two at each corner for a total of eight (an indication of thoughtful design). The handle on this luggage is telescoping and has three levels moving from flush to fully extended. The luggage can be rolled, pushed, or pulled more easily due to the flexibility afforded by this feature. The luggage also has fixed handles on the top and side for picking the luggage from various angles (quite handy when pulling it out of the trunk or setting it down to be weighed) and comes with functional and effective TSA locks built-in to the suitcase itself (far better than the simple, easily-lost padlock most luggage comes with).

4 - Durability - The polycarbonate shell takes a beating well, while protecting the contents of your luggage. The doubled-up wheels and sturdy handles are more than equal to supporting the (fully-loaded) weight of this behemoth. The luggage comes with a 10-year warranty, though be aware that it covers manufacturing defects only and is not no-questions-asked.

5 - Design - If you like minimalism, you'll like the design of the Inova. It's all clean lines and matte silver, with the added benefit of not having and sharp edges to snag on anything when squeezing through dense airport traffic.

There are, however, a few things that may not thrill you about this luggage.

1 - Huge - The ginormity of this beast means you're going to incur overweight luggage charges if you pack it to the brim. Since you're looking at a piece of this size, however, you probably already know that. Also, don't expect to toss this thing into the trunk of your ultra-compact car and be on your merry way; this thing takes up a fair bit of space and is not exactly light (i.e. you don't want to be fussing with 70lb luggage trying to cram it from various angles into the trunk of your car).

2 - Lack of interior organization - The luggage opens, there are two sides, you can fill them, then zip them. The slightly more expensive silhouette makes provision for a variety of items, including toiletries, with varying, specially-designed compartments. No front pockets or special compartments here. Just cram it full, zip it up, and go.

3 - Cosmetics - This is a minor quibble since all checked bags are subject to the abuse of baggage handlers, but the matte silver doesn't hold up well from a cosmetics standpoint. From the first time I checked this bag it came back looking like it had been run through a giant pinball machine. That being said, no contents were damaged, and neither was the luggage, which I consider a testament to the durability of its construction.

4 - Design - The silhouette, at slightly greater cost, offers a few more frills, with a slightly edgier design. It's also offered in black, meaning the abuse it takes will be less visible. If you're married to the idea of your luggage being fashion-forward, the silhouette is probably a better choice than the Inova.

5 - Weight - Despite being constructed of polycarbonate, this luggage, at 12lbs, is not really any lighter than other luggage in this class (conventionally constructed or otherwise).

6 - Price - Even on sale, this thing isn't cheap. You're paying a fair bit for something with such Spartan interior organization.

All of that being said, this is a great piece of luggage for cramming huge amounts of stuff into. You can pack it to the gills, move it around easily, and expect it to keep the stuff you put into it safe. It's a convenient way to get you there worry-free, but it wont win you any door-prizes for best-accessorized traveler and isn't for those of you who wish every piece of luggage had the interior organization of a garment bag.

I just done my international travel with this Inova and all I can tell is a lovely luggage to travel around.

The case itself is very light so you can pack more stuff in it.

Very easy to move around with 8 wheels total, 2 per each conner.

Now, I'm thinking to buy one more... maybe a small size for local travel.

I just bought this bag after the reviewers above responded to my query about its ability to carry large binders. I am very happy with the size, capacity and design. It looks pretty good for a piece that is neither leather nor high fashion. I think it looks quite smart. Some might find it over sized if looking for a more compact bag. It's not exactly light but it is much lighter than it looks.
Sometimes I carry my laptop and/or tablet but more often I carry lots of files and a couple binders. I work in the legal field. I trust this one for any of those needs. Thank you to those who responded to my question very quickly. Very impressive network here at Amazon.

I bought this for my 14" laptop. It's made of very durable and nice looking material. Padded in the right places. Love the strap on the back to hook onto my roller bag. With the strap only at the top, it makes it easier to angle the bottom of the bag out so that it doesn't tip over from the weight. Very nice fully padded compartment in the back for my laptop. Then a large section in front of that for folders, books, ipods, etc. Nicely organized front compartment for business cards, wallet, pens, phone, etc. There is a front padded pocket for an ipad or kindle. Finally, there is a small zippered pocket at the top of the bag that nicely holds ID and boarding pass. So convenient to have a little pocket that is so easy to get to. It fits nicely under the seat in front and there is even space above it to either put my feet or a sweater.
I'm a fairly petite woman and I didn't want something that would look gigantic when I carried it. This is a good size. It would be nice if it came in something other than black, but it's hard to find a feminine bag that is well made and holds everything I need it to hold on a trip.

This is nothing like my previously owned Samsonite hanging bag which gave me great service for 15+ years before the Zipper fragmented after years of service. This bag is far less quality and durability with very cheap components. The hangar clip,for example is flimsy plastic which will break within a short time of use.All interior plastic is thin and flimsy. The hangar clips to hang outside the bag are also sub-standard and chintzy. I am very shocked at the differences for this " Brand " . I give it 3 stars only because it still is built and designed the way I need the bag to function. I would have spent more money for the better bag if I could have found it.

I checked the description, and it says it's made to 'carry LPs while on the move'. That's why it's call DJ shoulder bag. Interesting. It's a good bag for non-DJs as well. This bag has more colour choices that all other Manhattan Portage bags.

The medium DJ shoulder bag is big enough to hold a 13-inch laptop (with a thin case) plus a few A4-sized writing pads. A 14-inch laptop will be too big. The bag is not padded though. The shoulder strap is of good length and strong. The bag uses a small buckle to secure the front flap.

This bag has only two pockets. One's on the front of the main compartment that goes all the way across and down. It's a big zip pocket that can fit in big flat items like a notebook. Inside the main compartment, there's the second pocket attached to the back, also going across and down all the way.

The material used to construct the bag is Cordura nylon. It looks and feels very durable.

The design of the bag is simple, nothing fanciful but it does its job. However, when compared to other messenger bags from Manhattan Portage, this one definitely feels over-priced.

Very simple design. Three slots to store stuff. The front slot utilizes a zipper. The inside back slot does not utilize a zipper. The bag has to be clipped together by a clip to shut it and to keep its shape. I've been tempted to just flip the flap over and hoist the bag onto my shoulder. However, the clip helps to keep the flap in shape. It doesn't look cool or hang cool without the flap being clipped to the bag. It carries the things I need to carry like a couple of hardbound books, a couple of notebooks, as well as pens and facial tissue and hand cleanser.

I'm not disappointed.

Bottom line: I like it.

Pros: plenty of room

Con: it is not 100% waterproof. I walked through a tropical storm with it for about 15min and by the time I got to my office the bag was pretty damp inside. Not really water but very moist. All paperwork though was fine and so were laptop and camera.

Con: for some reason I already dropped it twice. The shoulder strap hooks were they attach to the bag one came lose. They are very solid and they didn't break or anything, it was more that while walking, I must have unlatched it and the bag dropped. This happened twice over the course of 5 days when I was excessively using it. I really hope that I was just clumsy and I am not seeing a trend here.

Pro: laptop / camera etc. survived both drops just fine.

Capacity: when shopping for a new bag, I was always wondering the size of these and how much they really hold. Mine is full, but not overpacked, and it holds the following:

laptop (15.7"), camera bag (6x4x2), kindle, notebook (6.5x4.5x0.5), leather binder, magazine, tape measurement, laptop mouse, laptop power adapter, pens, various USB cables, set of small screw drivers.

size wise, I love this bag!

I can't say much about quality yet. I only bought this two weeks ago. It appears pretty sturdy.

I purchased this case for my MacBook Air. It's very lightweight, and it has plenty of room and compartments for everything from small items to large items (I've carried both my Air and my regular MacBook in it at the same time -- along with a lot of paperwork, books, and office supplies). I'd recommend this to anyone who does a fair amount of traveling -- LOVE being able to leave the computer in theTSA-friendly compartment when I'm going through airport security! Saves time and potential damage to my computers.

I LOVE this backpack. It's very sturdy and great quality. I was worried due to the light color of the fabric it would get dirty very fast when traveling etc. though to my surprise it stayed like new! A nice enough bag, but overpriced given several serious design flaws By Brian Connors
Now the first thing I need to say is that at least as far as I'm concerned, the standard by which laptop bags should be judged is the Targus OCN1; it's a simple but flexible design that can manage anything from an 11in netbook all the way up to a widescreen 15in MacBook Pro. Although a little small for my taste, the Caselogic PNM-214 measures up to it for the most part; I've been carrying it around for a couple of weeks now. I like some of its design flourishes -- the top-access compartment, for example, is well-padded and split in two to hold cords and the like, and the front pocket is just big enough to comfortably handle standard optical media (I keep my system discs in there). A feature I especially like is the MOLLE-like web loop attachment points on the front and back of the bag; you can easily attach things like camera pouches, or even expand the bag by adding, say, a military surplus map pouch or the like. The styling appears geared towards high school and college students (I guess that's what "a hint of attitude" is supposed to mean in the ad copy), with the front panel being made out of a stiffer nylon than the rest of the bag's construction.

Except... it's got a few flaws. The first is a major facepalm decision -- the front compartment, the one you might put documents or extra cables in, is closed with a magnetic clasp, and a rather weak one at that. In an era where magnetic latches on laptops are somewhat common and almost all exchange media is optical or flash memory, this is not necessarily going to be an issue, but if you carry around a floppy or Zip drive or any other kind of magnetic media, this is a nonnegotiable dealbreaker. Another issue that's more an annoyance than anything else: the total, unfolded length shoulder strap is six inches to a foot too short; I'm 5'8", and I can just about stretch it out to a length that's comfortable for carrying cross-shoulder (for security reasons, as anyone carrying expensive gear through a crowded area should do), and someone significantly taller than me will find the bag crawling up their armpit even at maximum extension. Worse, unlike even Targus' cheapest bags, the shoulder strap is not removable -- the non-extending end is sewn directly into the bag's structure, meaning you're pretty much stuck with it.

Overall, this bag could have been a five-star product -- a longer, removable strap and a snap or velcro closure rather than the magnetic clasp would both have been trivial. It certainly isn't worth the MSRP, and I question whether it's even worth the discounted Amazon price. It's a damn shame -- it's otherwise a stylish, solid product.

UPDATE 12/10: Six months later and I'm still using the bag despite the fact that I stand behind what I said about its limitations. Judge that however you will.

Caselogic Messenger Bag Review - Meh By H. J. Spivack
I got my Caselogic Messenger bag in the mail from Amazon yesterday. Now, I haven't carried a ton of books, papers and laptop around in it for months on end yet, but once I got it, I'm not likely to. I've owned some Caselogic products in the past, mostly CD books and DVD binders. They've always been functional if not aesthetically pleasing. They've also held up over time. I have four big Caselogic books that house my software and DVDs and they have yet to fail me after 10 years of use.

When I saw the Caselogic Messenger bag, I figured it would be good for toting my 'stuff' back and forth to worth everyday. It looked great in the picture (currently on the right side of my screen), a good and functional piece of corporate accessory. All I need it to do is look good on my arm and carry all that 'stuff.'

Unfortunately, the bag itself seems a little flimsy. The material, which looks like either neoprene (the pockets are definitely neoprene) or some kind of heavy duty cloth or canvas. I'm not sure what most of the bag is made out of, but I don't think I can really bring it to work. There are some deep pockets in the bag and it will fit a 17" laptop, but I don't believe it will hold up to much abuse. Some of the stitches already looked a little loose and, wierdly, there is only one handle in the top of the bag. That last one is strange because there doesn't seem to be a way to keep the bag steady. Usually, there's two handles, stitched to either side of the bag. On this one, its one handle stitched to one side and that's it.

Don't get me wrong, its not awful. If you're a student or a light traveler (I'm neither) you would probably do fine with this at least for a while. Its now become a book bag for my son. But for the professional businessman, not so much. That's a shame. Now I know what their ad copy means by 'professionally oriented.' Professional probably won't be interested.

Perfect for my netbook By Morley Dotes
My Dell fits easily in this bag. It is light and nicely padded. I wouldn't let a car run over it, but it feels like the padding is thick enough to save you if you drop it from hip length, though I'm not going to try it ;-). It should certainly protect your netbook if it gets knocked around, especially in a subway, etc. I was very surprised with all of the pockets, especially the one on the flap, it's much larger than I expected and can hold quite a bit. You can easily store an iTouch, camera, batteries, memory cards, documents, and much more. In fact, since most airlines allow you one carry-on AND one personal bag, this can count as a personal bag....and, it is padded so nicely that you can fit it into a carry-on easily enough. The material feels very durable and almost rugged. It is relatively comfortable except the shoulder pad a pretty stiff, and the strap is a little short for me. Nothing terrible, and it would not stop me from buying it, but I wanted to point it out. I am not trying to nit pick, however, I think that it should be noted. I am very happy with it. The Lima Green accent colors are not as bad as I thought they would be and actually do not bother me too much....you get used to it. I probably owuld have preferred black or dark blue, but this is also another minor issue. There are no deal breakers for me here, it is everything I would expect for my netbook and I plan to put it through its paces, as I travel quite a bit, and will update if anything differs from this review. You should note that this is not a weekend bag that also fits a netbook/laptop, rather, it is a netbook bag that has enough room for a few other things. For me, it's perfect!

Perfect for minimalist travel By K-Rid
I bought this item to use as my only bag when traveling light. I like to fly discount carriers, some of which charge even for carry on bags. I usually would just use a backpack with a laptop compartment and put it under the seat in front me. The main problem with that strategy was that clothes would not stay folded and end up wrinkled. When I saw this bag, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for.

I ordered both the small and medium to inspect them in person and compare the sizes. I came to the following conclusion:

Medium: May fit under the seat if it is not fully loaded, but when fully loaded will likely only fit in the overhead bin.
Small: Will easily fit under the seat, even when full loaded.

I decided to go with the small based on this observation and returned the medium. The small will fit a decent amount of folded clothes in the main compartment and I can even squeeze a pair of shoes in there (men's size 11), but this reduces the amount of space available in the side pockets. The laptop compartment is fairly large, even on the small, and I'm able to fit a 14" Dell Latitude with extended battery (13.9" x 10.3" x 1.3") easily.

I can only really find two cons, which aren't a big deal to me, but may be for others:
- As other reviews have mentioned, the laptop compartment is hard to zip if the cinch straps inside the main compartment are pulled tight. This problem is worse when there are very few clothes, since the strap will be cinched tighter. When I have it loaded with a large amount of clothes, it's not really a problem.
- There is no water bottle holder. One could easily fit on the side opposite the main zippers (and I'm considering adding one), so I don't see why it wasn't included.

Overall, this a very quality bag and will last a very long time. I was able to purchase it on sale and I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay full price, but if you can find it discounted I think it's worth it.

I took this on a 3-week trip to Italy and carried it on airplanes, boats, and trains, as my only luggage. It held up really well and fit all of my stuff (although I did laundry during the trip), including shoes and souveniers. I mostly carried it backpack-style. If you want to travel light, this backpack is very lightweight and pretty roomy. I definitely recommend it.

Perfect solution for small overhead bins on regional jets By Stairway27
I fly twice a week for work, and frequently find myself stuck on the smaller regional jets that some airlines have fallen in love with. The overhead bins on many of these planes will not accommodate even a smaller "rollaboard" suitcase. My Eagle Creek rollaboard JUST MISSES fitting into a CRJ900 overhead by 3/4" because of its lower rigid frame, so I'm forced to gate-check it. The Timbuk2 Wingman (Medium) has the same length-by-width footprint as my rollaboard (21" by 14"), and fits into the small overhead bins! No need to gate-check my bag and wait 10-15 minutes in the jetway for the bag to be unloaded and brought up!

I was also very pleased to find that if you use the Eagle Creek Pack-It Cubes (which I do) to organize your packing, the Wingman nicely fits a pair of the full sized Cubes as a layer. So, it can easily hold 4 full Pack It Cubes (2 per layer) or 2 Cubes and the larger Eagle Creek Folder (I have the 18" folder but the 20" should fit as well) with some room to spare.

For me, the backpack straps complete the package. I had to stand in customs lines on my first trip with this bag, and never experienced any fatigue, where I'm sure I would have wanted to set the bag down if I'd used the included shoulder strap.

The computer pocket is huge, but I have to admit I won't put my Macbook Pro 13" in there without the additional protection of a sleeve. I'm using the Timbuk2 Quickie. It fits in the pocket, and I just pull it out before tossing the Wingman bag into the overhead.

Time and travel will tell how durable this bag is. My wife has owned some other Timbuk2 bags that she carries 20 pounds of books and paperwork in. With a lifetime guarantee, I'm certainly willing to see how well this bag stands up to life on tho road.

I had ordered a different laptop bag from another supplier and made by a different leather goods manufacturer. Although the other bag was well designed and the leather quite supple and well finished it did not fit my Dell Latitute E6500 laptop even though the online supplier had listed the size as fitting my computer.
